Regarding the first picture, it seems to me that it's about a family of four, where the dad is abusive, and yet the mother isn't doing anything about it. The children (the little red ones) don't have a clue about what's going on, seeing as they have no facial expression (or even a face at all, lol). The mother is one who'd feel alone even in a crowded room, so to speak.
This is all just a guess, of course.
For the second picture, however...it just looks fantastic. :D!
